    [niv] Go at once to Paddan Aram, to the house of your mother's father Bethuel. Take a wife for yourself there, from among the daughters of Laban, your mother's brother.
    [asv] Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father. And take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
    [jnd] Arise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father, and take a wife thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.

    [niv] May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples.

    [niv] May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now live as an alien, the land God gave to Abraham."
    [asv] And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee. That thou mayest inherit the land of thy sojournings, which God gave unto Abraham.
    [jnd] And may he give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee and to thy seed with thee, in order that thou mayest possess the land of thy sojourning, which God gave to Abraham!

    [niv] Then Isaac sent Jacob on his way, and he went to Paddan Aram, to Laban son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, who was the mother of Jacob and Esau.
    [asv] And Isaac sent away Jacob. And he went to Paddan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.

    [asv] Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan-aram, to take him a wife from thence. And that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

    [bbe] So when Esau saw that Isaac had given Jacob his blessing, and sent him away to Paddan-aram to get a wife for himself there, blessing him and saying to him, Do not take a wife from among the women of Canaan;
28:7 [cbgb] 又见雅各听从父母的话往巴旦亚兰去了, < | >
    [niv] and that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Paddan Aram.
    [asv] And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Paddan-aram.

    [niv] Esau then realized how displeasing the Canaanite women were to his father Isaac;
    [asv] And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father.
    [jnd] And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan were evil in the sight of Isaac his father.
    [kjv] And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
    [nwb] And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
    [rsv] So when Esau saw that the Canaanite women did not please Isaac his father,
    [web] Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan didn't please Isaac, his father.
    [ylt] and Esau seeth that the daughters of Canaan are evil in the eyes of Isaac his father,
    [bbe] It was clear to Esau that his father had no love for the women of Canaan,
28:9 [cbgb] 便往以实玛利那里去,在他二妻之外又娶了玛哈拉为妻。他是亚伯拉罕儿子以实玛利的女儿,尼拜约的妹子。 < | >
    [niv] so he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael son of Abraham, in addition to the wives he already had.
    [asv] And Esau went unto Ishmael, and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.
    [jnd] And Esau went to Ishmael, and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.

    [niv] There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.
    [asv] And, behold, Jehovah stood above it, and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.

    [ylt] and lo, Jehovah is standing upon it, and He saith, `I Jehovah, God of Abraham thy father, and God of Isaac; the land on which thou art lying, to thee I give it, and to thy seed;
    [bbe] And he saw the Lord by his side, saying, I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: I will give to you and to your seed this land on which you are sleeping.
28:14 [cbgb] 你的后裔必像地上的尘沙那样多,必向东西南北开展。地上万族必因你和你的后裔得福。 < | >
    [niv] Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.
    [asv] And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. And in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

28:15 [cbgb] 我也与你同在。你无论往哪里去,我必保佑你,领你归回这地,总不离弃你,直到我成全了向你所应许的。 < | >
    [niv] I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."
    [asv] And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee, whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land. For I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
    [jnd] And behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all to which thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee until I have done what I have spoken to thee of.

    [niv] When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it."
    [asv] And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place. And I knew it not.
    [jnd] And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and said, Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I knew not.
    [kjv] And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

    [niv] He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven."

    [niv] Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.

    [niv] and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."
    [asv] then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God's house. And of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
    [jnd] And this stone, which I have set up a pillar, shall be God's house; and of all that thou wilt give me I will without fail give the tenth to thee.
