    [niv] In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
    [asv] God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners,
    [jnd] God having spoken in many parts and in many ways formerly to the fathers in the prophets,
    [kjv] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
    [nwb] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
    [rsv] In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets;
    [web] . God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
    [ylt] In many parts, and many ways, God of old having spoken to the fathers in the prophets,
    [bbe] In times past the word of God came to our fathers through the prophets, in different parts and in different ways;
    [niv] but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
    [asv] hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;
    [jnd] at the end of these days has spoken to us in [the person of the] Son, whom he has established heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    [kjv] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    [nwb] Hath in these last days spoken to us by Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    [rsv] but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
    [web] has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.
    [ylt] in these last days did speak to us in a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He did make the ages;
    [bbe] But now, at the end of these days, it has come to us through his Son, to whom he has given all things for a heritage, and through whom he made the order of the generations;
    [niv] The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
    [asv] who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
    [jnd] who being effulgence of his glory and expression of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, having made the purification of sins, set himself down on the right hand of the greatness on high,
    [kjv] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
    [nwb] Who being the brightness of glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
    [rsv] He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
    [web] His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
    [ylt] who being the brightness of the glory, and the impress of His subsistence, bearing up also the all things by the saying of his might -- through himself having made a cleansing of our sins, sat down at the right hand of the greatness in the highest,
    [bbe] Who, being the outshining of his glory, the true image of his substance, supporting all things by the word of his power, having given himself as an offering making clean from sins, took his seat at the right hand of God in heaven;
    [niv] So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
    [asv] having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.
    [jnd] taking a place by so much better than the angels, as he inherits a name more excellent than they.
    [kjv] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
    [nwb] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
    [rsv] having become as much superior to angels as the name he has obtained is more excellent than theirs.
    [web] having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have.
    [ylt] having become so much better than the messengers, as he did inherit a more excellent name than they.
    [bbe] Having become by so much better than the angels, as the name which is his heritage is more noble than theirs.
    [niv] For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father " ? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son" ?
    [asv] For unto which of the angels said he at any time,  Thou art my Son,  This day have I begotten thee? and again,  I will be to him a Father,  And he shall be to me a Son?
    [jnd] For to which of the angels said he ever, *Thou* art my Son: this day have *I* begotten thee? and again, *I* will be to him for father, and *he* shall be to me for son?
    [kjv] For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
    [nwb] For to which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
    [rsv] For to what angel did God ever say, "Thou art my Son, today I have begotten thee"? Or again, "I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son"?
    [web] For to which of the angels did he say at any time, "You are my Son,Today have I begotten you?"and again, "I will be to him a Father,And he will be to me a Son?"
    [ylt] For to which of the messengers said He ever, `My Son thou art -- I to-day have begotten thee?' and again, `I will be to him for a father, and he shall be to Me for a son?'
    [bbe] To which of the angels did God say at any time, You are my Son, this day I have given you being? or, I will be his Father, and he will be my Son?
    [niv] And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."
    [asv] And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
    [jnd] and again, when he brings in the firstborn into the habitable world, he says, And let all God's angels worship him.
    [kjv] And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
    [nwb] And again, when he bringeth in the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
    [rsv] And again, when he brings the first-born into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."
    [web] . When he again brings in the firstborn into the world he says, "Let all the angels of God worship him."
    [ylt] and when again He may bring in the first-born to the world, He saith, `And let them bow before him -- all messengers of God;'
    [bbe] And again, when he is sending his only Son into the world, he says, Let all the angels of God give him worship.
    [niv] In speaking of the angels he says, "He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire."
    [asv] And of the angels he saith,  Who maketh his angels winds,  And his ministers a flame a fire:
    [jnd] And as to the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire;
    [kjv] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
    [nwb] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
    [rsv] Of the angels he says, "Who makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire."
    [web] Of the angels he says,"Who makes his angels winds,And his servants a flame a fire."
    [ylt] and unto the messengers, indeed, He saith, `Who is making His messengers spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire;'
    [bbe] And of the angels he says, Who makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire:
    [niv] But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
    [asv] but of the Son he saith,  Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever;  And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
    [jnd] but as to the Son, Thy throne, O God, to the age of the age, and a sceptre of uprightness the sceptre of thy kingdom.
    [kjv] But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
    [nwb] But to the Son, , Thy throne, O God, for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness the scepter of thy kingdom.
    [rsv] But of the Son he says, "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever, the righteous scepter is the scepter of thy kingdom.
    [web] . but of the Son he says,"Your throne, God, is forever and ever;The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
    [ylt] and unto the Son: `Thy throne, O God, to the age of the age; a scepter of righteousness the scepter of thy reign;
    [bbe] But of the Son he says, Your seat of power, O God, is for ever and ever; and the rod of your kingdom is a rod of righteousness.
    [niv] You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy."
    [asv] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;  Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee  With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
    [jnd] Thou hast loved righteousness and hast hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with oil of gladness above thy companions.
    [kjv] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
    [nwb] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
    [rsv] Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness beyond thy comrades."
    [web] . You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;Therefore God, your God, has anointed youWith the oil of gladness above your fellows."
    [ylt] thou didst love righteousness, and didst hate lawlessness; because of this did He anoint thee -- God, thy God -- with oil of gladness above thy partners;'
    [bbe] You have been a lover of righteousness and a hater of evil; and so God, your God, has put the oil of joy on your head more than on the heads of those who are with you.
    [niv] He also says, "In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
    [asv] And,  Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth,  And the heavens are the works of thy hands:
    [jnd] And, *Thou* in the beginning, Lord, hast founded the earth, and works of thy hands are the heavens.
    [kjv] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
    [nwb] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
    [rsv] And, "Thou, Lord, didst found the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of thy hands;
    [web] . And,"You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth.The heavens are the works of your hands.
    [ylt] and, `Thou, at the beginning, Lord, the earth didst found, and a work of thy hands are the heavens;
    [bbe] You, Lord, at the first did put the earth on its base, and the heavens are the works of your hands:
    [niv] They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
    [asv] They shall perish; but thou continuest:  And they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
    [jnd] They shall perish, but *thou* continuest still; and they all shall grow old as a garment,
    [kjv] They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
    [nwb] They shall perish; but thou remainest: and they all shall become old as doth a garment;
    [rsv] they will perish, but thou remainest; they will all grow old like a garment,
    [web] . They will perish, but you continue.They all will grow old like a garment does.
    [ylt] these shall perish, and Thou dost remain, and all, as a garment, shall become old,
    [bbe] They will come to their end; but you are for ever; they will become old as a robe;
    [niv] You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end."
    [asv] And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up,  As a garment, and they shall be changed:  But thou art the same,  And thy years shall not fail.
    [jnd] and as a covering shalt thou roll them up, and they shall be changed; but *thou* art the Same, and thy years shall not fail.
    [kjv] And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
    [nwb] And as a vesture wilt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
    [rsv] like a mantle thou wilt roll them up, and they will be changed. But thou art the same, and thy years will never end."
    [web] . As a mantle you will roll them up.And they will be changed.But you are the same.Your years will not fail."
    [ylt] and as a mantle Thou shall roll them together, and they shall be changed, and Thou art the same, and Thy years shall not fail.'
    [bbe] They will be rolled up like a cloth, even like a robe, and they will be changed: but you are the same and your years will have no end.
    [niv] To which of the angels did God ever say, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet" ?
    [asv] But of which of the angels hath he said at any time,  Sit thou on my right hand,  Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?
    [jnd] But as to which of the angels said he ever, Sit at my right hand until I put thine enemies footstool of thy feet?
    [kjv] But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
    [nwb] But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool?
    [rsv] But to what angel has he ever said, "Sit at my right hand, till I make thy enemies a stool for thy feet"?
    [web] . But of which of the angels has he said at any time,"Sit at my right hand,Until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?"
    [ylt] And unto which of the messengers said He ever, `Sit at My right hand, till I may make thine enemies thy footstool?'
    [bbe] But of which of the angels has he said at any time, Take your seat at my right hand till I put all those who are against you under your feet?
    [niv] Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
    [asv] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?
    [jnd] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out for service on account of those who shall inherit salvation?
    [kjv] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
    [nwb] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall inherit salvation?
    [rsv] Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?
    [web] . Aren't they all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
    [ylt] are they not all spirits of service -- for ministration being sent forth because of those about to inherit salvation?
    [bbe] Are they not all helping spirits, who are sent out as servants to those whose heritage will be salvation??
