14:1 [cbgb] 以色列阿,你要归向耶和华你的 神。你是因自己的罪孽跌倒了。 >
    [niv] Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God. Your sins have been your downfall!
    [asv] O Israel, return unto Jehovah thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

    [ylt] Turn back, O Israel, unto Jehovah thy God, For thou hast stumbled by thine iniquity.
    [bbe] Samaria will be made waste, for she has gone against her God: they will be cut down by the sword, their little children will be broken on the rocks, their women who are with child will be cut open.
14:2 [cbgb] 当归向耶和华,用言语祷告他说,求你除净罪孽,悦纳善行,这样。我们就把嘴唇的祭,代替牛犊献上。 < | >
    [niv] Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.
    [asv] Take with you words, and return unto Jehovah: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render as bullocks the offering of our lips.
    [jnd] Take with you words, and turn to Jehovah; say unto him, Forgive all iniquity, and receive graciously; so will we render the calves of our lips.

    [bbe] O Israel, come back to the Lord your God; for your evil-doing has been the cause of your fall.
14:3 [cbgb] 我们不向亚述求救。不骑埃及的马。也不再对我们手所造的说,你是我们的 神。因为孤儿在你耶和华那里得蒙怜悯。 < | >
    [niv] Assyria cannot save us; we will not mount war-horses. We will never again say `Our gods' to what our own hands have made, for in you the fatherless find compassion."
    [asv] Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods; for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

    [bbe] Take with you words, and come back to the Lord; say to him, Let there be forgiveness for all wrongdoing, so that we may take what is good, and give in payment the fruit of our lips.
14:4 [cbgb] 我必医治他们背道的病,甘心爱他们,因为我的怒气向他们转消。 < | >
    [niv] "I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.
    [asv] I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for mine anger is turned away from him.

    [niv] I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots;
    [asv] I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

    [niv] his young shoots will grow. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon.
    [asv] His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

    [niv] Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.
    [asv] They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the grain, and blossom as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
    [jnd] They shall return and sit under his shadow; they shall revive corn, and blossom as the vine: the renown thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
    [kjv] They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
    [nwb] They that dwell under his shade shall return; they shall revive the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent of it as the wine of Lebanon.

14:8 [cbgb] 以法莲必说,我与偶像还有什么关涉呢?我耶和华回答他,也必顾念他。我如青翠的松树,你的果子从我而得。 < | >
    [niv] O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? I will answer him and care for him. I am like a green pine tree; your fruitfulness comes from me."
    [asv] Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green fir-tree; from me is thy fruit found.
    [jnd] Ephraim , What have I to do any more with idols? (I answer , and I will observe him.) I am like a green fir-tree. -- From me is thy fruit found.

    [rsv] O E'phraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress, from me comes your fruit.

    [ylt] O Ephraim, what to Me any more with idols? I -- I afflicted, and I cause him to sing: `I as a green fir-tree,' From Me is thy fruit found.
    [bbe] They will come back and have rest in his shade; their life will be made new like the grain, and they will put out flowers like the vine; his name will be like the wine of Lebanon.
14:9 [cbgb] 谁是智慧人,可以明白这些事,谁是通达人,可以知道这一切。因为,耶和华的道是正直的,义人必在其中行走,罪人却在其上跌倒。 <
    [niv] Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
    [asv] Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.  
    [jnd] Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? intelligent, and he shall know them? For the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors shall fall therein.
    [kjv] Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall
    [nwb] Who wise, and he shall understand these ? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall in them.
    [rsv] Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the LORD are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.
    [web] Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Yahweh are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.
    [ylt] Who wise, and doth understand these? Prudent, and knoweth them? For upright are the ways of Jehovah, And the righteous go on in them, And the transgressors stumble therein!
    [bbe] As for Ephraim, what has he to do with false gods any longer? I have given an answer and I will keep watch over him; I am like a branching fir-tree, from me comes your fruit.
